Is Your Dog Bad, or Just Misunderstood?
After dedicating many years to the nurturing and successful rehabilitation of numerous rescued dogs, I believe that their are very few that truly should be labeled as "bad", but that a considerable amount is misunderstood about how and why dogs communicate and behave. I've had the experience of working with many dog owners who have mistakenly assumed that because their canine companion engages in behavior that is unpredictable, aggressive, and/or destructive that they must have a "bad dog". Most of the time, this couldn't be further from the truth. It is important to remember that dogs and humans communicate differently, and that it is easy for key pieces of information to be lost in translation. Time and time again, I have witnessed anxious, unfocused, or aggressive dogs become well adjusted, obedient, emotionally healthy pets when the correct means of communication and proper corrections are implemented. Effectively communicating with your dog can be the key to creating a loving, lasting relationship for years to come. I help pet owners bridge the gap in communication and behavior between their dog and themselves.
Finding the Right Solution for Success
Since dogs and their owners are all unique, I take time to evaluate the specific needs of your pet, your lifestyle, and yourself. Whether I am helping get your puppy acclimated to his new home, facilitating general obedience training, or behavior modification coaching, my approach is comprehensive and focused on enriching the relationship that your dog and yourself share. I will develop a customized training & development program that is focused on communication, understanding, and mutual respect. Depending on the specific needs of your pet, this may include in-home, or group training sessions, pack walks, as well as, training while boarding at our facility.
When your dog concludes his training sessions, you will share a deeper understanding of each other, have a clearly defined means of communication, and you will have the pleasure of enjoying a happy, well-mannered, tail wagging companion.
Mission Statement
I have a strong commitment to assisting people and their dogs with developing mutual respect, trust, and understanding that leads to happy, healthy relationships, and good behavior. Additionally, I have a deeply personal interest in preventing "misunderstood" dogs from being abandoned in already overburdened shelters and rescues, as well as, a focus on the training and rehabilitation of dogs that have been through rescue and shelter experiences.
